Common Areas

The veranda lounge
The heart of the Locanda is undoubtedly the lounge , located in the ancient veranda, with its inviting sofas and armchairs upholstered in fabric with paisley patterns in warm reds, discreet lighting, pink walls, stone floor and cast-iron stove. A backgammon set is always available, should guests wish to play a game or two.

On one side of the room large windows look out on a lush garden and on the other, the view is of the courtyard with the well. Dinner is served in the courtyard during the summer months.

The front garden offers a stunning view of the Locanda with its trees and tall, elegant palms illuminated by fairytale lighting. The perfume of the mandarin, cedar and lemon trees in their large terracotta vases wafts through the air. There are gardenias, white camellias, ivy, cyclamens and other white flowers that are Carlotta Pomati's favourites. The family cat loves to welcome guests and make friends with them.

The picturesque lounges
The small intimate bar with wood panelling, used to be the old post office.

The breakfast room was once the stable and conjures up a refined country atmosphere, with one wall in stone offset by another in pink plaster. The white cups decorated with a blue and red pattern used to belong to Carlotta's grandmother, and there is always a selection of French and homemade jams.

The tasteful lounge is furnished with nineteenth-century sofas and armchairs with floral upholstery and graced by oval portraits of the great grandparents. The focal point is the piano, which is often been used for musical evenings featuring jazz by Romano Mussolini and by the Renato Sellani group and classical concerts by leading musicians from La Scala.
